Perubahan 2023: Task 2 dulu Independent Essay (30 menit, 300+ kata). Sekarang Academic Discussion (10 menit, 100+ kata). Lebih pendek tapi lebih focused.

Task 1: Integrated Writing — Panduan Lengkap

Format: Baca passage akademik (3 menit) → Dengar lecture yang merespons passage (2 menit) → Tulis ringkasan hubungan keduanya (20 menit)

📝 Template Integrated Writing:

Introduction (2-3 kalimat):
“The reading passage discusses [topic] and presents [3 arguments/reasons]. However, the lecturer challenges these points and argues that [opposing position].”

Body Paragraph 1:
“First, the reading claims that [point 1 from reading]. However, the lecturer counters this by explaining that [opposing point from lecture]. According to the professor, [specific detail/example].”

Body Paragraph 2:
“Second, the reading states that [point 2]. The lecturer, on the other hand, argues that [counter-argument]. [He/She] provides evidence that [detail].”

Body Paragraph 3:
“Finally, the reading suggests that [point 3]. The lecturer disputes this claim by pointing out that [counter-argument + evidence].”

⚡ Tips Skor Tinggi:

• Selalu tunjukkan KONTRAS — reading vs lecture, bukan hanya rangkum satu sisi
• Fokus ke lecture — 70% konten Anda harus dari lecture, 30% dari reading
• Jangan tambah opini — ini BUKAN esai opini, murni rangkuman
• 150-225 kata optimal — lebih dari 225 biasanya tidak menambah skor

Task 2: Academic Discussion — Format Baru 2026

Ini task yang berubah total dari format lama. Anda akan melihat:

1. Pertanyaan dari “profesor” — topik diskusi akademik
2. 2 respons dari “mahasiswa” — pendapat berbeda
3. Tugas Anda: Tulis kontribusi bermakna ke diskusi (100+ kata, 10 menit)

Contoh Soal:

Professor: “Some people believe that online education will eventually replace traditional classroom learning. Others argue that in-person instruction is irreplaceable. What is your perspective?”

Student A: “I think online education offers more flexibility and accessibility…”

Student B: “I disagree. In-person classes provide better social interaction…”

📝 Template Academic Discussion (100-120 kata):

Position (1-2 kalimat):
“I agree with [Student A/B] that [position]. While [Student A/B] raises a valid point about [their argument], I believe [your nuanced position].”

Reason + Example (3-4 kalimat):
“[Your main argument]. For instance, [specific example]. This demonstrates that [connection to topic]. Furthermore, [additional supporting point].”

Extension/Nuance (2-3 kalimat):
“However, it’s worth considering that [acknowledge other side]. A more balanced approach would be [nuanced conclusion]. Ultimately, [final thought].”

⚡ Critical Rules:

• Acknowledge both students — show you read their responses
• Add NEW information — don’t just agree, bring a new perspective/example
• 100+ kata MINIMUM — aim for 110-130 for best scores
• 10 menit = no time to waste — start typing within 1 minute
• Spellcheck mental — grammar errors are heavily penalized in this short task

Perbandingan: TOEFL iBT Writing vs IELTS Writing

Kesimpulan: TOEFL Writing lebih pendek dan lebih cepat (29 vs 60 menit). Tapi TOEFL Integrated lebih kompleks karena gabungkan reading + listening. IELTS Writing 2 (essay 250 kata) lebih menantang karena butuh argumen panjang dan terstruktur.
